Both the Traverse City Beach Bums (26-35) and the Florence Freedom (26-35) put runners aboard on Tuesday, but it was the Traverse City Beach Bums that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 4-3 win at Wuerfel Park.
Jose Vargas racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He singled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.
The Florence Freedom had no answer for Luke Barker, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Barker held the Florence Freedom hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Jordan Kraus allowed two earned runs, seven hits and one walk while striking out four over eight innings of work.
Kraus ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year.
