An ace performance by Tanner Simpson led the Columbia Basin (4-0) to a 6-0 win over the Prairie Baseball Academy on Saturday.
Simpson had an impressive outing against the Prairie Baseball Academy's lineup. The Prairie Baseball Academy managed just one hit off of the the Columbia Basin's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his seven innings of work.
The Columbia Basin blew out the Prairie Baseball Academy thanks to 15 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Columbia Basin scored two runs in the eighth on the Columbia Basin scored in the eighth on an RBI single by Spencer Bennion and an RBI single by Zack Chamberlain.
Logan Green had a hot bat for the Columbia Basin. Green went 3-5 and scored two runs. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third and fifth innings.
