A walk-off single from Kaden Betsch brought home the winning run for the Clark (5-11) in a 2-1 victory over the SW Oregon at Tigard HS on Saturday.
Betsch was solid at the plate for the Clark. Betsch went 1-4 and drove in one. He singled in the ninth inning.
The Clark got the win thanks in large part to Chris Carns's dominant, eight-strikeout performance. Carns allowed one earned run on four hits and three walks over eight innings.
A bright spot for the SW Oregon (4-16) in the defeat was Tanner Crooks, who allowed only two runs while striking out six.
Crooks (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher.
