Connor Wong went 2-4, helping the Bourne Braves (17-19) to a 3-2 victory over the Cotuit Kettleers (12-25) on Tuesday at Lowell Park.
He singled in the second and fourth innings.The Cotuit Kettleers' lineup had no answer for Brendon Little. Little held the Cotuit Kettleers hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
The Cotuit Kettleers were led by Quinn Brodey's hitting. Brodey went 3-5 and scored two runs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth and seventh innings.
The Bourne Braves had no answer for Jason Bilous, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Bourne Braves managed just two hits off of the the Cotuit Kettleers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out one during his four innings of work.
Andrew Cabezas improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Bourne Braves. He allowed one run over 2 1/3 innings. Cabezas struck out three, walked three and gave up two hits.
Eddie Muhl ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
