Michael Gigliotti collected three hits as the Falmouth Commodores (22-12) took home an 8-3 victory over the Orleans Firebirds (16-17) at Eldredge Park on Thursday.
He homered in the third inning and singled in the seventh and eighth innings.Justin Hoyt brought the heat against the Orleans Firebirds during his outing. Hoyt held the Orleans Firebirds hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.
Tyler Holton improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Falmouth Commodores. He allowed two runs over three innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered three hits.
Chandler Day ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
