Harwich Mariners vs Wareham Gatemen: 2-3

Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

The Wareham Gatemen make the most of 6 hits in 3-2 victory over the Harwich Mariners

Story by Narrative Science.

The Wareham Gatemen (15-14) and the Harwich Mariners (19-11) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Wareham Gatemen that eventually took advantage of them in a 3-2 win at Spillane Field.

The fact that the Wareham Gatemen grouped all of their runs into the sixth inning helped them take advantage of their hits.

Colton Shaver had two extra-base hits for the Wareham Gatemen. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.

The Harwich Mariners had no answer for Dalton Horton, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Harwich Mariners managed just one hit off of Horton, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out none during his three innings of work.

Max Burt had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the fifth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Austin Bain ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
