The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (13-10) and the Orleans Firebirds (12-11) both had scoring chances on Wednesday, but it was the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 7-3 win at Red Wilson Field.

JJ Schwarz racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. He homered in the fourth inning.

The Orleans Firebirds had no answer for William Montgomerie, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Montgomerie gave up just three hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his four innings of work.

The Orleans Firebirds were led by Riley Mahan's hitting. Mahan went 4-5. He singled in the first, third, fourth, and sixth innings.

Eli Morgan ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
