The Orleans Firebirds (7-6) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 7-3 ballgame against the Falmouth Commodores (7-6) on Friday at Arnie Allen Diamond.

While the Orleans Firebirds led until the fourth inning, the Falmouth Commodores worked their way back and took the lead on a two-run home run by Cadyn Grenier.

Tyler Lawrence racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Falmouth Commodores. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the fifth innings.

Brendan King improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Falmouth Commodores. He allowed three runs over five innings. King struck out four, walked one and gave up seven hits.

John OReilly couldn't get it done on the hill for the Orleans Firebirds, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
