Both the Wareham Gatemen (4-2) and the Harwich Mariners (5-1) put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the Wareham Gatemen that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 3-2 win at Whitehouse Field.

Gunner Leger pitched lights out for the Wareham Gatemen. Leger gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his three innings of work.

Peter Solomon was effective even in defeat, mowing down nine the Wareham Gatemen batters and allowing two runs.

Casey Mize improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Wareham Gatemen. Mize struck out two, walked one and gave up two hits.

Brad Bass was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out two, and allowed one run.
