J.P. Sorma clubbed two home runs to carry the Pompano Beach Clippers (3-0) to an 8-7 win over the Coral Springs Royals (3-3) at Pompano Beach Park.

A bright spot for the Coral Springs Royals in the defeat was Nolan Krivijanski, who allowed only one run while striking out seven.

Tommy Romero recorded his first win of the year for the Pompano Beach Clippers. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out two, walked three and surrendered no hits.

TJ Densmore ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

The Pompano Beach Clippers were sparked by Sorma and David Dinorcia, who teamed up for five hits and five RBIs.
