An ace performance by Michael Koltak lifted the Boca Raton Blazers (2-0) to a 2-1 win in seven innings over the West Palm Beach Sharks (0-2) on Saturday at Lynn University.
Koltak put together a nice outing. The West Palm Beach Sharks managed just two hits off of Koltak, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out seven during his seven innings of work.
Leo Saldivar paced the Boca Raton Blazers at the plate. Saldivar went 2-3 and scored one run. He singled in the fourth inning and tripled in the sixth inning.
Chris Gang was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed one run.
