The California Bees jump on the Sacramento Heat early and coast to 9-3 win

The California Bees (9-15) jumped out to an early lead on the Sacramento Heat (8-17) and captured a 9-3 victory on Saturday at Terra Linda HS.

With six runs in the first three innings, the California Bees left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A two-run single by Jack Friedman in the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Sam Davison and an RBI single by Brock Piscoran during the second inning supplied the early offense for the California Bees.

Frank Resto got a hit in each of his two at bats. He homered in the third inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Colby Morris improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the California Bees. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Morris struck out six, walked one and gave up 10 hits.

Chris Sardo (2-4) took the loss for the Sacramento Heat. He allowed nine runs in six innings, walked four and struck out seven.

The California Bees were sparked by Resto and Donovan Buechs, who teamed up for six hits and five RBIs.
