Josh Kimborowicz kept the Schaumburg Boomers (21-20) off the board during his six innings of work and the Southern Illinois Miners (28-12) beat the Schaumburg Boomers, 3-0.

Kimborowicz allowed five hits, two walks and struck out three.

Steve Marino had two extra-base hits for the Southern Illinois Miners. He singled in the second inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and homered in the sixth inning.

Lars Liguori couldn't get it done on the hill for the Schaumburg Boomers, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
