A walk-off single from Jesus Solorzano brought home the winning run for the Normal CornBelters (18-24) in a 4-3 victory over the Traverse City Beach Bums at The Corn Crib on Thursday.

Solorzano racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Normal CornBelters. He singled in the first and ninth innings.

It was a good day at the plate for the Normal CornBelters' Matthew Chavarria. Chavarria went 3-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the second, sixth, and ninth innings.

Vince Apicella had an impressive outing against the Traverse City Beach Bums (15-27)'s lineup. The Traverse City Beach Bums managed just one hit off of Apicella, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out eight during his five innings of work.

Steven Patterson was hot from the plate for the Traverse City Beach Bums. Patterson went 3-5 and drove in one. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third and fifth innings.

James Ball (0-3) took the loss for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
