Richard Seigel had two extra base hits as the Florence Freedom (15-26) took home a 5-1 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers (17-23) at All Pro Freight Stadium on Thursday.
He singled in the fourth inning, homered in the sixth inning, and doubled in the eighth inning.Stetson Nelson picked up the win for the Florence Freedom. Nelson allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks while striking out three over seven innings of work.
It was a good day at the plate for the Lake Erie Crushers' Brendan Costantino. Costantino went 2-4 and drove in one. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the third inning.
Mike Devine ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
