The San Francisco Seagulls uses big third inning to beat the Atwater Aviators, 15-5

A 12-run explosion in the third inning led the San Francisco Seagulls (11-10) to a 15-5 win in seven innings over the Atwater Aviators (8-10) at Fairmont Field on Thursday.

The San Francisco Seagulls scored in the third on a two-run single by David Langer, a two-run single by Alex Roeser, a wild pitch, a wild pitch, a three-run double by Kai Haake, a three-run double by Haake, an RBI single by Juan Reina, an RBI single by Ismael Orozco, and an RBI double by Langer.

Reina racked up two RBIs on two hits for the San Francisco Seagulls.

Alex Jenkins brought the heat against the Atwater Aviators during his outing. Jenkins held the Atwater Aviators hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Zach Wall pitched lights out for the Atwater Aviators. The San Francisco Seagulls managed just one hit off of the the Atwater Aviators' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Michael Espino improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the San Francisco Seagulls. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered no hits.

Ian Hussian (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 10 runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out none.

The San Francisco Seagulls pounded the Atwater Aviators pitching, as six hitters combined for nine hits, 12 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
