A walk-off single from Jon Nelson brought home the winning run for the South Bay Storm (13-7) in a 3-2 victory over the San Francisco Seagulls at College of Alameda on Sunday.
Nelson had a hot bat for the South Bay Storm. Nelson went 1-4 and drove in one. He singled in the ninth inning.
RJ Hanson baffled the San Francisco Seagulls (13-11), striking out seven batters. Hanson allowed no earned runs on five hits and two walks over six innings.
A bright spot for the San Francisco Seagulls in the defeat was Josh Eclavea, who allowed only three runs while striking out six.
Dalton Grisell improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the South Bay Storm. He allowed one run over three innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered three hits.
Eclavea couldn't get it done on the mound for the San Francisco Seagulls, taking a loss.
