The Regina Red Sox take out the Yorkton Cardinals with help from Montero, 7-3

The Regina Red Sox (25-18) beat the Yorkton Cardinals (26-17) 7-3 on Tuesday at Currie Field behind Gabriel Montero, who went 2-4.

He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.

The Yorkton Cardinals couldn't get anything going so long as Sam Brunner was on the hill. The Yorkton Cardinals managed just one hit off of the the Regina Red Sox's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his two innings of work.

Daniel McFarland was hot from the plate for the Yorkton Cardinals. McFarland went 3-5 and scored one run. He singled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings.

Skyler Henson recorded his fourth win of the year for the Regina Red Sox. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Trevor Wallace (3-2) took the loss for the Yorkton Cardinals. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
