The Okotoks Dawgs offense too much for the Fort McMurray Giants in 11-2 rout

The Okotoks Dawgs (28-13) jumped out to an early lead on the Fort McMurray Giants (15-29) and captured an 11-2 victory on Monday at Shell Place.

With seven runs in the first three innings, the Okotoks Dawgs left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Kellen Marruffo, an RBI single by Josh McIntyre, and in the first inning and , an RBI single by Marruffo, , a passed ball, and during the second inning fueled the Okotoks Dawgs' offense early.

Marruffo paced the Okotoks Dawgs at the plate. Marruffo went 4-5 and scored two runs.

The Okotoks Dawgs had no answer for Adam Falcon, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Falcon held the Okotoks Dawgs hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

Sam Wong got the win, running his season record to 4-0. He allowed two runs over six innings. Wong struck out none, walked one and gave up five hits.

Tyler Hodder couldn't get it done on the hill for the Fort McMurray Giants, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out none.
