A magnificent effort by Jeremy Stidham lifted the Moose Jaw Miller Express (16-24) to an 11-8 win over the Regina Red Sox (22-15) on Tuesday at Ross Wells Park.
Stidham blasted three home runs for the Moose Jaw Miller Express. Stidham went 3-3 in the game with four RBIs and five runs scored. Stidham homered in the first, third, and fifth innings.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 19 total runs and 25 hits during the game. Both bullpens were busy with eight pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.
Derek Slate racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Regina Red Sox. He homered in the third inning and singled in the sixth and seventh innings.
Ragan Cole improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Moose Jaw Miller Express. He allowed two runs over two innings. Cole struck out none, walked none and gave up four hits.
Skyler Henson couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Regina Red Sox, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
