The Edmonton Prospects offense too much for the Fort McMurray Giants in 14-5 rout

The Edmonton Prospects (17-20) jumped out to an early lead on the Fort McMurray Giants (11-27) and captured a 14-5 victory on Saturday at Telus Field.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the Edmonton Prospects to put the game away early.

A groundout by Colin Kreiter, a two-run double by Kody Funderburk, and an RBI triple by Jordan Zazulak in the first inning supplied the early offense for the Edmonton Prospects.

Cory Scammell racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Edmonton Prospects. He tripled in the sixth inning and doubled in the seventh and eighth innings.

Paul Richy racked up 10 strikeouts in the the Edmonton Prospects win. Richy allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk over six innings.

Chase Hager racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Fort McMurray Giants. He singled in the seventh inning and tripled in the ninth inning.

James (Isaac) Mullins (3-2) took the loss for the Fort McMurray Giants. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked five and struck out four.
