Thursday was a great day for Kellen Marruffo, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Okotoks Dawgs (24-10) to an 8-5 victory over the Weyburn Beavers (17-20) at Tom Laing Park.
Anthony Baldaras pitched lights out for the Okotoks Dawgs. Baldaras held the Weyburn Beavers hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Corey Harrell racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Weyburn Beavers. He singled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Tyler Burdett improved to 3-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Okotoks Dawgs. Burdett struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.
Cole Feazell couldn't get it done on the hill for the Weyburn Beavers, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 6 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.
The Okotoks Dawgs were sparked by Justin King and Marruffo, who teamed up for five hits and five RBIs.
