The Okotoks Dawgs (22-10) outlasted the Medicine Hat Mavericks (24-7) at Athletic Park 8-7 on Saturday after 13 innings.

With the score tied at six, Blake Rowlett came to the plate and singled, bringing home Joel Brophy and Tyler Mildenberg.

Michael Gretler racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Okotoks Dawgs. He homered in the third inning and singled in the tenth inning.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks couldn't get anything going so long as Christian Parsons was on the hill. The Medicine Hat Mavericks managed just two hits off of Parsons, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his three innings of work.

Michael Bucci improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Okotoks Dawgs. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered four hits.

Justin Logan ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
