The Edmonton Prospects (18-22) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Lethbridge Bulls (23-16), recording a 15-1 victory on Saturday at Telus Field.
With eight runs in the first three innings, the Edmonton Prospects left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
An RBI single by Cory Scammell, an RBI single by Erik Sabrowski, , an RBI double by Kody Funderburk, and a two-run single by Griffy Goyer in the first inning and an RBI single by Scammell, a two-run error, and a sacrifice fly by Colin Kreiter during the second inning helped the Edmonton Prospects put some runs on the board early.Scammell had a hot bat for the Edmonton Prospects. Scammell went 4-5, drove in one and scored two runs.
Brenden Wiun put together a nice outing. The Lethbridge Bulls managed just one hit off of the the Edmonton Prospects' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out seven during his four innings of work.
Pat Kelley (3-2) took the loss for the Lethbridge Bulls. He allowed seven runs in one inning, walked two and struck out none.
The Edmonton Prospects easily handled the Lethbridge Bulls pitching as seven hitters combined for 16 hits, 10 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
