The Yorkton Cardinals (13-13) beat the Weyburn Beavers (14-16) 9-5 on Monday at Jubilee Park behind Garret Kizer, who went 2-2.
He singled in the fifth innings and tripled in the eighth inning.The Weyburn Beavers' lineup had no answer for Austin Douglas. The Weyburn Beavers managed just one hit off of Douglas, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his three innings of work.
Zach Frazier led the Weyburn Beavers' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.
Spencer Jackson recorded his first win of the year for the Yorkton Cardinals. Jackson struck out one, walked none and gave up three hits.
Eric Morell (1-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked one and struck out one.
