The Swift Current Indians offense too much for the Fort McMurray Giants in 14-2 rout

The Swift Current Indians (20-7) shut the door early on the Fort McMurray Giants (10-19), capturing a 14-2 victory on Monday at Mitchell Field.

With five runs in the first three innings, the Swift Current Indians left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI double by Liam Goodall, , and in the first inning supplied the early offense for the Swift Current Indians.

Culver Plant racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Swift Current Indians. He singled in the third inning, homered in the fifth inning, and doubled in the eighth inning.

Christian Marquez had an impressive outing against the Fort McMurray Giants' lineup. The Fort McMurray Giants managed just two hits off of the the Swift Current Indians' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his four innings of work.

Michael Echavia was hot from the plate for the Fort McMurray Giants. Echavia went 2-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the fourth inning and tripled in the ninth inning.

Jackson Wark got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Brandon Desjardins ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

The Swift Current Indians pounded the Fort McMurray Giants pitching, as seven hitters combined for 18 hits, 13 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
