A magnificent effort by Alex Alders hoisted the Medicine Hat Mavericks (22-4) to an 8-6 win over the Lethbridge Bulls (17-12) on Monday at Spitz Stadium.
Alders rocked the Lethbridge Bulls with two home runs. Alders went 3-4 in the game with four RBIs and three runs scored. Alders homered in the first, fifth, and fifth innings.
The Medicine Hat Mavericks came out swinging, scoring four runs in the first inning to jump ahead of the Lethbridge Bulls early.
Lachlan Mayo racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Lethbridge Bulls. He homered in the sixth inning.
Even though Joshua Garcia allowed five runs over six innings he still recorded the victory, his third of the season. He struck out one, walked three and surrendered nine hits.
Luc Hebert (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked one and struck out three.
