The Medicine Hat Mavericks (14-3) shut the door early on the Swift Current Indians (11-4), capturing a 12-6 victory on Sunday at Athletic Park.

The game was decided quickly as the Medicine Hat Mavericks exerted their will early with six runs in the first three innings.

A single by Alex Alders, a hit by pitch, a triple by Nolan Rattai, a single by Anthony Calton, an RBI single by William Salas, a single by Daren Grabowski, and a groundout by Zac Wilson in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Medicine Hat Mavericks.

Calton racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Medicine Hat Mavericks.

Liam Goodall racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Swift Current Indians. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.

Jared Libke improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out eight, walked three and surrendered eight hits.

Braulio Torres-Perez ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out three.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks pounded the Swift Current Indians pitching, as seven hitters combined for 16 hits, 12 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
