Brooks Benson went 5-5 at the plate, sparking the Moose Jaw Miller Express (2-8) to a 4-2 victory over the Weyburn Beavers (5-5) on Saturday at Tom Laing Park.

He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the second, fourth, seventh, and ninth innings.

Tanner Spencer kept contact to a minimum, striking out seven the Weyburn Beavers batters. Spencer allowed one earned run on seven hits and no walks over seven innings.

Eric Morell couldn't get it done on the bump for the Weyburn Beavers, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out seven, and allowed three runs.
