The Fort McMurray Giants outlast the Edmonton Prospects in high-scoring affair, 12-8

Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Friday as the Fort McMurray Giants (7-13) outscored the Edmonton Prospects (8-10) 12-8.

The two teams combined for 25 hits in the game.

Michael Echavia pulled double duty, leading the Fort McMurray Giants on both offense and defense in the win.

Echavia had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the third inning and tripled in the fourth inning.

Echavia brought the heat against the Edmonton Prospects during his outing. Echavia held the Edmonton Prospects hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Erik Sabrowski racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Edmonton Prospects. He singled in the second and fourth innings, doubled in the fifth inning, and tripled in the seventh inning.

James (Isaac) Mullins got his second win for the Fort McMurray Giants despite allowing five runs over 4 2/3 innings. (Isaac) Mullins struck out four, walked two and gave up six hits.

Paul Richy (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked two and struck out one.
