A seven-run explosion in the second inning spurred the Swift Current Indians (3-0) to a 13-5 win over the Yorkton Cardinals at Jubilee Park on Wednesday.

The Swift Current Indians scored in the second on an error, a hit by pitch, , an RBI single by Liam Goodall, an error, and a two-run single by Austin Rieman.

Rieman racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Swift Current Indians.

Brooks Trujillo improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Swift Current Indians. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered eight hits.

Trevor Wallace was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
