Connor Kalisky went 1-5 and hit a home run as the Weyburn Beavers (1-1) took home a 7-2 victory over the Moose Jaw Miller Express (0-3) at Ross Wells Park on Tuesday.
He homered in the seventh inning.Scott Doucet picked up the win for the Weyburn Beavers. Doucet pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out four.
Despite the loss, the Moose Jaw Miller Express' Grant Westmoreland dominated the Weyburn Beavers' batters, giving up three runs and striking out nine.
Westmoreland was charged with his first loss of the year.
