Blake Welch hopes every outing could go as well as Saturday, as Welch pitched eight shutout innings to carry the Melville Millionaires (1-0) to a 3-1 victory over the Yorkton Cardinals at Pirie Field.

A bright spot for the Yorkton Cardinals (0-1) in the defeat was Kody Rock, who allowed only two runs while striking out six.
