The Vienna River Dogs (6-9) blew out the Alexandria Aces (7-7) 12-3 on Monday at Frank Mann Field after pouring on eight runs in the second inning.

The Vienna River Dogs scored in the second on an RBI single by Jake Marshall, a two-run single by Owen Socher, an RBI double by Andrew Zitel, a two-run single by Jordan Sergent, and a two-run double by Peter Nielsen.

Sergent racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Vienna River Dogs.

Alex Stephens paced the Alexandria Aces at the plate. Stephens went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning.

John Cerretani improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Vienna River Dogs. He allowed two runs over five innings. Cerretani struck out three, walked one and gave up three hits.

Evan Flanagan ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
