Kenny Towns had two extra base hits, sparking the Schaumburg Boomers (17-17) to a 7-2 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers (16-16) on Tuesday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.

Kagen Hopkins struck out seven hitters en route to the the Schaumburg Boomers win. Hopkins allowed one earned run, five hits and three walks over 6 2/3 innings.

Steve Hagen was effective even in defeat, mowing down seven the Schaumburg Boomers batters and allowing three runs.

Bryan De La Rosa racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He homered in the second inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Hagen (2-2) took the loss for the Lake Erie Crushers.

The Schaumburg Boomers were sparked by Paul Kronenfeld and Towns, who teamed up for three hits and three RBIs.
