A walk-off single from Aaron Bond brought home the winning run for the Champion City Kings (23-28) in a 4-3 victory over the Chillicothe Paints (22-30) in 11 innings at Davidson Stadium on Thursday.
Bond was hot from the plate for the Champion City Kings. Bond went 3-6 and drove in one. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the tenth and eleventh innings.
The Chillicothe Paints couldn't get anything going as long as Austin Moreland was pitching. Moreland held the Chillicothe Paints hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
David Stover was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
