The Lafayette Aviators (24-24) took home a marathon 8-7 victory over the Hannibal Cavemen (10-36) on Saturday at Loeb Stadium.
With the score tied at seven in the twelfth inning, was hit by a pitch, plating Aaron Bence.
Bence got on base three times in the game for the Lafayette Aviators. He tripled in the twelfth inning.
Kellan Elsbury brought the heat against the Hannibal Cavemen during his outing. The Hannibal Cavemen managed just two hits off of Elsbury, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three during his three innings of work.
Francisco Rivas (1-3) took the loss for the Hannibal Cavemen. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
