Aaron Meyer went 2-3 and hit a home run, sparking the DuPage Drones (26-20) to a 4-2 victory in seven innings over the Terre Haute Rex (30-18) on Saturday at Benedictine Sports Complex.
He singled in the first innings and homered in the third inning.The DuPage Drones got the win thanks in large part to Jon Laird's dominant, six-strikeout performance. Laird allowed two earned runs, three hits and four walks over six innings.
The DuPage Drones couldn't get anything going as long as Matt Weissheier was pitching. Weissheier gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out three during his three innings of work.
Brian Hobbie couldn't get it done on the mound for the Terre Haute Rex, taking a loss. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
