The Terre Haute Rex (26-16) used a three-run explosion in the eighth inning to get past the Lafayette Aviators (21-21) 8-2 on Saturday at Bob Warn Field.

The Terre Haute Rex scored in the eighth on an RBI single by Dalton Board, an RBI single by Chris Ayers, and an RBI single by Niko Decolati.

Board had a hot bat for the Terre Haute Rex. Board went 4-5, drove in one and scored two runs.

Brian Hobbie struck out six, paving the way for a the Terre Haute Rex win. Hobbie allowed one earned run on four hits and one walk over seven innings.

John Valente was hot from the plate for the Lafayette Aviators. Valente went 2-4. He singled in the fourth inning and tripled in the sixth inning.

Skyler Harrison (1-5) took the loss for the Lafayette Aviators. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
