Levine helps the West Virginia Miners down the Champion City Kings 5-0

Tanner Levine went 2-5, sparking the West Virginia Miners (22-15) to a 5-0 victory over the Champion City Kings (14-24) on Saturday at Davidson Stadium.

He singled in the ninth inning.

Brian Cherrington pitched lights out for the West Virginia Miners. Cherrington gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

The Champion City Kings were led by Matt Fallon's hitting. Fallon went 3-5. He singled in the first, fifth, and ninth innings.

Ben Hughes allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out three over six innings of work.

Jarron Monroe improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the West Virginia Miners. Monroe struck out four, walked four and gave up five hits.

Hughes (3-3) was the game's losing pitcher.
