Tanner Levine had two extra base hits, sparking the West Virginia Miners (19-14) to a 5-2 victory over the Champion City Kings (12-22) on Sunday at Linda K. Epling Stadium.
He doubled in the second inning and homered in the eighth inning.Austin Goss brought the heat against the Champion City Kings during his outing. The Champion City Kings managed just one hit off of Goss, who allowed one earned run, walked seven and struck out five during his 8 1/3 innings of work.
Andrew McDonald was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the West Virginia Miners batters and allowing two runs.
Andrew Fishel reached base four times in the game for the Champion City Kings. He also drove in one runner. He doubled in the seventh inning.
McDonald was charged with his third loss of the year.
