Evan Warden was strong at the plate and on the mound in carrying the Lafayette Aviators (18-15) to a 2-1 victory over the Danville Dans on Saturday at Danville Stadium.

Warden led the Lafayette Aviators' offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He doubled in the fourth inning.

Warden struck out eight, paving the way for a the Lafayette Aviators win. Warden allowed one earned run on seven hits and one walk over 7 2/3 innings.

Bryan Ayers was effective even in defeat, mowing down eight the Lafayette Aviators batters and allowing two runs.

Ayers (2-1) took the loss for the Danville Dans (17-16).
