An exceptional effort by Jon Laird carried the DuPage Drones (17-16) to a 4-1 win over the Quincy Gems on Friday at Quincy Stadium.

Laird picked up the win for the DuPage Drones. Laird allowed one earned run, three hits and two walks while striking out six over eight innings of work.

Colan Borchers baffled the DuPage Drones, striking out three batters. Borchers allowed one earned run on four hits and no walks over five innings.

Cameron Sanders (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked six, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
