The Quincy Gems (18-16) took down the Hannibal Cavemen (9-24) 11-1 on Tuesday at Quincy Stadium after slamming the Hannibal Cavemen with six runs in the second inning.

The Quincy Gems scored in the second on , an RBI single by Jake Walters, a wild pitch, an RBI single by Trey Mathis, an RBI single by Mathis, and an RBI single by Dean Nevarez.

Deion Thompson had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits.

Sam Huser struck out six hitters en route to the the Quincy Gems win. Huser allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks over five innings.

Dalton Overstreet ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in two innings, walked four and struck out two.

The Quincy Gems' Walters, Mitch Carriger and Thompson combined for five hits and seven RBIs.
