The Quincy Gems (16-13) and the Lafayette Aviators (15-13) each put runners in scoring position on Sunday, but the Quincy Gems capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 7-3 win at Quincy Stadium.
Mitch Carriger racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Quincy Gems. He singled in the first and third innings and homered in the seventh inning.
Jake Haberer's five strikeouts helped the Quincy Gems to the victory. Haberer allowed no earned runs, five hits and two walks over six innings.
