The Champion City Kings (10-17) jumped out to an early lead on the West Virginia Miners (15-11) and captured an 11-4 victory on Saturday at Davidson Stadium.

With five runs in the first three innings, the Champion City Kings left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A two-run single by John Goodrich and during the first inning supplied the early offense for the Champion City Kings.

Cale Dineen went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the Champion City Kings. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fourth innings.

Zane Collins brought the heat against the West Virginia Miners during his outing. The West Virginia Miners managed just three hits off of the the Champion City Kings' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his 4 2/3 innings of work.

Brandon Stuckenschneider was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Champion City Kings batters and allowing zero runs.
