Thursday was a great day for Mitch Carriger, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Quincy Gems (12-8) to a 7-5 victory over the Hannibal Cavemen (7-12) at Quincy Stadium.
Noah Lee racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Hannibal Cavemen. He singled in the fourth and fifth innings.
Sam Huser got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed three runs over five innings. Huser struck out three, walked four and gave up five hits.
Derek Jones (1-2) took the loss for the Hannibal Cavemen. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked one and struck out four.
Jack Holden, Carriger and Deion Thompson helped lead the Quincy Gems. They combined for eight hits and six RBIs.
