The Springfield Sliders (9-6) and the Terre Haute Rex (9-8) each put runners in scoring position on Sunday, but the Springfield Sliders capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 6-5 win at Robin Roberts Field.

William Elliott had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He tripled in the second inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Peter Young had an impressive outing against the Terre Haute Rex's lineup. Young held the Terre Haute Rex hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Jeffrey Barton was effective even in defeat, mowing down seven the Springfield Sliders batters and allowing three runs.

Jacob Thiessen improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Springfield Sliders. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered two hits.
