The Danville Dans (9-6) blew out the Quincy Gems (10-6) 8-0 on Sunday at Danville Stadium after pouring on six runs in the second inning.

The Danville Dans scored in the second on a single by Mason Irby, , a double by Robert Greenman, , and a two-run double by Grant Mayeaux.

Irby racked up two RBIs on four hits for the Danville Dans.

The Quincy Gems had no answer for Matt Vaka, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Quincy Gems managed just three hits off of the the Danville Dans' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his five innings of work.

Colan Borchers couldn't get it done on the hill for the Quincy Gems, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
