The Lafayette Aviators (6-8) outlasted the Hannibal Cavemen (5-10) at Clemens Field 8-5 on Saturday after 10 innings.

With the score tied at five in the tenth inning, Bryce Evans came to the plate and tripled.

Evans led the Lafayette Aviators' offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He tripled in the tenth inning.

The Hannibal Cavemen couldn't get anything going so long as Derkinger was on the hill. Derkinger held the Hannibal Cavemen hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Travis Kostello got on base two times in the game for the Hannibal Cavemen. He tripled in the third inning.

Jason Sterrett got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Sterrett struck out three, walked none and gave up one hit.

Ryan Furtney (3-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
